Investment and Innovations committee

The Committee comprises of four non-executive directors. Its terms of reference include:

  • To provide independent assurance and assistance to the Board on technology systems, innovation, and investments.
  • To ensure that there is oversight in the implementation of the Investment and Innovation Strategy and Policy as approved by the Board.
  • To set the Investment Policy and Strategy after receiving advice from technical experts as maybe necessary.
  • To review on an on-going basis the appropriateness of the Investment Strategy considering economic and market conditions and profile of the liabilities faced by the Group.
  • To monitor performance of the Investment Portfolios in terms of the agreed benchmarks and mandate.
  • To promote knowledge-based economy and innovation.
  • To give policy direction, guidance and counsel on the Group’s overall digital transformation, and marketing strategy with emphasis on brand visibility and reputation, innovation and new product development, product profitability and pricing, as well as on channel management initiatives.
  • To digitise, innovate and create IT strategy roadmaps and execution, including the financial, tactical, and strategic benefits of proposed major Digital and IT initiatives.
  • To review existing and future trends in technology that may affect the industries in which the Group operates and its strategic plans.
